A key player in the transport sector located in Queensland’s Darling Downs region faced a shortage of local housing options for their specialised workforce and required custom accommodation solutions for their staff.

Unable to find an off-the-shelf solution that met their specific needs for affordable staff rental housing, they approached Bella Manufacturing for a custom solution. Specifically, the units needed to be self-contained, featuring individual bathroom/toilet facilities, kitchenettes, and more spacious living areas than standard mobile options.

Bella Manufacturing delivered five pods, each housing three individual units, meeting the client’s specific requirements. Key design elements included:
– Optimal Dimensions: 15m x 3m x 2.4m, ensuring comfortable living spaces.
– Durable Construction: Frames crafted from fire-resistant, insulated steel panels for safety and longevity.
– Efficient Setup: Once on site, pods were easily installed on concrete stumps and connected to water, waste, and gas lines.
– Space-Saving Design: Barn doors for bathrooms provided privacy while optimizing space, cleverly overcoming lack of hollow wall cavities in frame
– Quality Amenities: Fibreglass shower cubicles and reverse-cycle air conditioning ensured comfort in all weather conditions.

Bella Manufacturing’s expertise in custom design allowed for a tailored solution. The manufacturing process for each pod typically took six weeks, significantly faster than traditional construction.

This rapid deployment provided the organisation with readily available rental accommodation, a significant benefit to their workforce.
