When putting together a quote for a custom-built mobile catering vehicle – whether it be a food truck, a food trailer or anything else – there are several elements that make up the whole. Here we break down a food truck fit-out into three main components:
Vehicle
A food truck, coffee van and a smoko truck have a vehicle element that needs to be purchased separately. Due to the volume of vehicles we build on, we are able to offer fleet discounts from ALL major brands, however the cost of the cab chassis, van or other vehicle are 20-40% of the cost. With vehicles needing specific requirements to build on or in, we advise not to purchase the vehicle until you know the fit out requested will fit.
Rear pod
This is the custom-built element that the Bella team manufacture from scratch. Individually designed and measured according to each project’s needs and wants, this section comprises quality Australian steel for a solid, robust kitchen that is built to last. Food grade insulated panel walls and floors as required by Australian codes are incorporated and there are multiple fundamental inclusions to comply with industry standards such as:
– fresh and wastewater tanks,
– hand washing sinks with hot water, soap and towel dispenser
– water pump and filter
– LED lighting for evening operation
– Food grade stainless steel benches and shelving
– Power points
– Fire blanket and extinguisher
– Commercial gas and electrical installation and certification
– plus more
Kitchen equipment
The equipment that is included in a mobile commercial kitchen varies according to the type of cuisine being served. It can range from ovens to deep fryers to pie warmers and coffee machines. Anything is possible and our advice is always to look at the best equipment that fits the budget. A food truck business necessarily relies on its equipment to operate and turn a profit, so skimping on the equipment one will rely on doesn’t make commercial sense.
These are the three main elements that make up a quote for a food truck fit out, additional elements include layout and design, professional CAD plans that can be used for submission to relevant authorities to gain permits and licences, materials and labour.
Our experienced team have the knowledge and skills to manufacture a high quality, fit for purpose unit that will serve its owner for years to come. A Bella truck has been proudly designed and built in Australia so our customers can rest assured that their vehicle will be robust and built to withstand both the rigours of a commercial kitchen’s usage and the sometimes-harsh Australian conditions in which they operate.
